you will need to work in the United States?
Canadian
traveling nurses need to meet the following
requirements to work in the United States:
1. VisaScreen™ program, which is a
federally-approved screening program for
foreign healthcare workers seeking an
occupational visa in the United States. The
Visascreen™ program is managed by the
International Commission of Healthcare
Professionals.
2. TN1 Visa:
The North American Free Trade Agreement
(NAFTA) created a TN classification (TN1
Visa) for eligible Canadian professionals to
work in the U.S. This visa is valid for up
to one year at a time with an unlimited
number of renewals. Despite its short-term
nature, TN Visas have become extremely
popular due to the low cost and fast
application process.
3. NCLEX® (National
Council Licensure Examination for Registered
Nurses). Canadian nurses wanting to work in
the USA, must pass the NCLEX-RN examination,
administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
